Drushyam 2 starring Venkatesh was a huge hit at the box office. Now, the makers are ready with the sequel titled Drushyam 2, which has been released on Amazon Prime. Let’s see how it is.
Drushyam 2 Story
The story starts from where the first part ended. Ram Babu (Venkatesh) throws the body of Varun (Nadia’s son) under the floor of a police station and comes to the murder case without a scratch.
Six years have passed and Varun’s parents are still dying to know who killed their son. They hire a better cop (Sampath) who gathers more evidence against Ram Babu and arrests him. Story of how Ram Babu once again saves his family and comes out of a deadly situation?
Drushyam 2 plus points
Venkatesh starts from where he left off in the first part. He shows the same intensity, pain and tension that his character goes through at times.
Star Hero creates great emotions with his eyes and keeps the audience hooked with his performance. Meena has got good screen space this time and she plays her supporting role very well.
Naresh and Nadia have done a good job in the sequel as well, but it is Sampath Raj who plays the role of the rough cop effectively. His gestures and gestures suit the mood of the investigative film. Satyam Rajesh gets a big role and is quite impressive.
The young actors who played Venky’s daughters also did well in their respective roles. The second half is where all the action begins. There are no dull moments during this as the overlapping screenplay and the way the twists unfold is spectacular.
Like the first part, the emotional angle in the film is also quite high in Dirshyam 2. The climax and its rationale have been well thought out by the director. The gritty scenes capture the mood of the film well.
Drushyam 2 minus points
The film starts off slow and things unfold at a slow pace. This aspect may seem boring to some, but the characters introduced during the first half also have a purpose at the end.
Drishyam 2 certainly lives up to the expectations but the thrill that was there in the first part is missing a bit in the sequel. As you know that Venkatesh’s character will turn out to be flawless, the suspense factor gets lighter in a few areas.
Drushyam 2 technical aspects
Anil Johnson’s music is impressive but his soothing BGM was even more effective. The camera work needs special mention as crime and police setup has been shown to be effective.
Jeetu Joseph’s screenplay is quite entertaining. The production design is amazing as the intervals and climax twist are handled well.
Talking about director Jeetu Joseph, he has done a great job with the sequel. He keeps things quite contemporary and realistic in the sequel.
The way he elaborates the investigation without any cinematic liberties is also good. More than anything, the way he ends the climax is also well thought out.
Overall, Drishyam 2 definitely lives up to the expectations. The sequel has solid performances, good twists and crisp narration.
Barring a slight slowdown in the first half, the film ends up as a clean and entertaining family drama, which can be seen by the end of this week.
